Keep Fleas Off Your Pet Naturally

Keeping fleas off your cat or dog and getting them off is an issue for any single or multiple pet homes. However most flea control remedies are chemical and can accidentally harm you, your children, or your pet. Getting and keeping fleas off your cat or dog can be done naturally, with only a few simple items.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Spray Bottle
Water
Essential Oil Lavender
Essential Oil Lemon

Step 1

Mix at least 1 Ounce of water, 10 drops of Lavender, and 5 drops of Lemon in the spray bottle. Check the scent of the mix. If it is too strong dilute by adding water. It is better to have a weaker scented mix than a strong one.
Step 2

Shake vigorously. Make sure the Essential Oils are mixed with the water - concentrated spots of Essential Oils can harm your pet.
Step 3

Spray at least 10 inches away from your pet. Cover the entire body of your cat or dog with a light mist.
Step 4

Avoid spraying in the eyes, nose, and ears since this can cause irritation!

Tips & Warnings

Why does this work? Fleas naturally repel from lavender and citrus scents - the smell of the essential oils can kill them and drive them away. If using lemon does not appeal to you try substituting with another citrus.
You do not have to use Lavender, you can use only Lemon or other Citrus scent if you choose.
Note: Essential Oils must be diluted and can be harmful in large amounts. Never use Essential oils directly on your pets fur/skin. Also, they have a much stronger sense of smell than a person - keep the scent to a minimum, it doesn't have to be strong to be effective.
