Step 1
vegetable matterMaking a compost pile is so easy. To start with, look around your yard. Find a suitable place that for your compost pile.
Instead of throwing away all those valuable nutrients that fresh vegetables and fruit contain, why not use them to benefit your garden?
Use only fresh vegetable and fruit matter, along with straw, shavings, etc. in your compost pile. By sticking with this general rule, you won't have a problem with rodents and ants. -
Step 2
Papaya TreeAlways use fresh vegetables, fruit, peelings, etc. in your compost pile. Straw, pine needles, fresh veggies and fruits that are ready to be thrown out etc., should go into your compost pile.
-
Step 3
Composting makes natural fertilizer that is a valuable asset to your garden.
Never use cooked food, grease, breads, etc. in your compost pile. These types of foods will draw ants and rodents to your pile very quickly. -
Step 4
A good way to get started is by adding your vegetable matter, then top it off with some straw or dirt (plain dirt is fine). Keep adding to your pile (even tea bags and coffee grounds). Try to turn your pile every once in a while. If you don't have the time to turn, then just keep adding to it. By spring, you will have an absolutely great compost that any plant will love. You will love your garden.
