Wine coolers have been growing in popularity since the 1980's. Because of their low alcohol content, they are especially enjoyed by light drinkers. There are many different varieties of wine coolers you can make (or purchase). Keep in mind, that because this drink gets its flavor from the fruit juices (not the wine), you should use inexpensive wine. You can also limit the sugar in the drink by using reduced sugar fruit juices. This recipe is for a mixed-berry wine cooler, and is sure to be a hit!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 oz white wine
  • 6 oz Sprite (or any lemon-lime soda)
  • 1/2 oz blackberry juice
  • 1/2 oz strawberry juice
  • 1/2 oz raspberry juice
  1. Step 1

Make sure the wine, soda and berry juices are ice cold before making the drink. The colder the ingredients are, the better the result. A wine cooler should not be warm. Hence the name "cooler."

  2. Step 2

Pour all of the berry juices together in a mixing glass with ice cubes. Mix the juices together until they are completely blended.

  3. Step 3

Pour the wine into a wine glass. Carefully pour the lemon lime soda into the glass with the wine. Add the berry juice mixture into the glass. The drink is now ready to be served. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • When chilling wine, do not put the bottle in the freezer. Because wine is a water-based solution, it will crystalize at about 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
