How to integrate Digg button into your WordPress Blog

WordPress is one the most popular blogging platforms these days. Digg is the well-known service, which allows internet users to share content and rate it. The more diggs (clicks) the article or material has - the more popular it is. This instruction will walk you through the process of adding the Digg button to your Wordpress blog.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet
  • WordPress blog
  • FTP client
  1. Step 1

    Go to http://wordpress.org and find the plugin called 'WP Digg This'

  2. Step 2

    Download the plugin

  3. Step 3

    When downloading - open the archive (zip) with your winzip or winrar applications

  4. Step 4

    Extract the plugin to hard drive

  5. Step 5

    Using your favorite FTP client, transfer the plugin directory into your wordpress/wp-content/plugins directory.

  6. Step 6

    After the directory is transferred, go to the administration section of your wordpress blog, and goto plugins section

  7. Step 7

    In the plugins list you will see the Digg it plugin. Activate it by clicking the 'Activate' button

  8. Step 8

    The plugin is now activated. Now, in order to display the digg button on your blog post, just add the cutom field to your post, where the field is 'digg' and value = 1. This is it!
