How to Use ATV Wheel Chocks
ATV wheel chocks are the best way to hold your ATV machine secure and stable on a trailer bed. They are usually made of 1-inch steel piping with a rust proof finish, and they come in all wheel sizes (the most common is 11 inches). A wheel chock will make sure your ATV does not slide or shift while the vehicle is being transported, and that will reduce the risk of the entire vehicle sliding right off the trailer and breaking through your straps. It will also prevent damage to the trailer and the machine.

1
Turn the chock so the bent part is facing up in the air towards you. This is the part that will hold the wheel.
-
2
Position the chock in your trailer at the front where the front wheel of your ATV is going to be when you transport it to your favorite riding destination. Allow room on the side of the trailer for yourself to walk, so don't position the chock more than 1 foot from the side of the trailer.

Make marks on each side of the chock's bottom pipes. Then mark where you want to drill the holes to attach the chocks to the trailer. Many chocks have holes pre-drilled. If not, you will have to drill them yourself using a metal or carbide drill bit.
-
4
Mount the chocks directly to the trailer bed using the provided hardware that comes with the chocks. If hardware is not provided, use your own bolts and matching nuts. Drill through the trailer bed and just install the nuts using a washer and hand tools.

5
Repeat Steps 2 to 5 for the second chock, positioning it the appropriate distance from the first chock. Then roll your ATV onto the trailer and into the chock frame. The wheel will rest right inside the chock. You can add straps to further secure the wheel in the chock.

Tips & Warnings
Use two chocks for added stability, and secure the wheels in the chocks with rubber bungee cords or canvas or nylon strapping.
Don't depend just on the chock to keep your ATV stable and stationary. You still need to use strapping to hold the vehicle in place.
