Creating a Little Big Planet world is exciting, though it can also be quite time consuming, especially if it is your first. However, the more effort you put into it, the better response you will receive from others in the online world. You earn trophies in Little Big Planet based on the positive response your world receives. Adding lights is extremely important if you plan to have a darker level, as you want others to be able to see where they are going.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create an item that you would like your light to stick on. You can have a light lay on the floor, but it will light the area better if it is attached to something higher in the air. This item could be something like a light post, building or even a wall.

  2. Step 2

Select the light you would like to add. Once you have played some of the basic levels, you will have quite a few different selections for lights. You can use anything from candles, circle lights to spotlights if you want to show off something. Each light can give a different effect to your board as well.

  3. Step 3

Tweak your light to perfection. Once you have selected a light, press the square button on your PS3 controller to tweak your individual light. Change the color of the light, the brightness, as well as different special effects. It will all depend on how you want the light to be used.

  4. Step 4

Select the light's position. Decide where you would like to place the light on your board. If the world you are creating is especially dark, make sure that there are several lights evenly spaced so that people playing it can figure out where to go.

  5. Step 5

Attach and glue your light. Once your have hit the "x" button to attach your light, it will bring up the menu to tweak it one more time. If everything is correct and the way you like it, hit the "o" button to back out of the menu and press and hold the "x" button for 2 seconds. This will make a smacking sound to alert you that this item has been attached and will not fall off.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can duplicate a light so that you do not have to reproduce the same light over and over again.
  • Make sure you have plenty of lights in a darker board so that players can see where they are going.
