Instead of just stacking cookies on a tray next time you bake for the holidays, consider creating a wreath for your cookie tray with brownies. It is fairly simple and lets you use a little creativity. There are several ways to spice up this decoration. This is a great idea of something to create with kids as they will love to decorate it.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brownie mix with ingredients Vanilla frosting Green food coloring Cake decorating bag Star tip Red cinnamon candies Spearmint leaves candy
  1. Step 1

Bake the brownies according to the package's instructions. Most recipes call for oil, eggs and a little water. Once they have baked in the oven, completely cool the brownies before you proceed to the next step.

  2. Step 2

Cut the brownies into 2-inch squares. You will need the whole pan to make the two-layer wreath, and depending on the size of your wreath, you may even want an additional pan of brownies.

  3. Step 3

Lay half of the brownies in a circle on your tray. Rearrange them as you would like, because after you frost them and add the second level, you will not want to move them.

  4. Step 4

Mix a small amount of green food coloring into a tub of vanilla frosting. The amount of coloring you add depends on the color you want to achieve, but typically it only takes about four or five drops per tub. Once the frosting is tinted, spoon it into a cake decorating bag.

  5. Step 5

Pipe green stars onto the brownies. You want to cover the top of the brownie with green stars, which typically takes about nine stars. Let the frosting harden a bit and then lay the second layer of brownies on top, alternating them to overlap the first level. Pipe green stars to the second level as well.

  6. Step 6

Decorate the top layer of brownies. Add spearmint leaves and red cinnamon candies to the top of your wreath. To finish it off, tie a strip of Fruit by the Foot in a bow and add it to the top of the wreath.
