How to Plan a Survivor-Theme Birthday Party

Survivor, with it's exotic locations, primitive human drama and unusual take on relationships, requires contestants to out play, out wit and out last other team members to win a million dollar prize. Not an easy task, contestants risk being betrayed or voted off at any time. If you know someone who is a fan of Survivor that has a birthday around the corner, consider throwing a Survivor-theme birthday party. With just a little planning and imagination, you will be able to plan a Survivor-theme party everyone will love.

Instructions

1. Set your budget. This is the most important part of planning your Survivor-theme birthday party. You budget will dictate every aspect of you party. Cut corners by making the decorations and invitations yourself.

2. Choose a location. Outside would be an excellent option. Whether this is your backyard or a park, make sure there is enough room for all the Survivor activities you have planned.

3. Decide if you want to send invitations. For added fun, use scrolls of parchment like the "tree mail" actual Survivor contestants receive.

4. Create the menu. You must serve rice - the staple of all survivors. Serve chocolate-covered raisins and call them "beetles" or "slugs." Be sure to have lots of exotic fruits. Serve in wooden bowls and have wooden utensils for your guests to use.

5. Decorate using the Survivor theme. Turn the party location into a desert or tropical island. Decorations can be purchased at party supply stores, discount stores or you can make them yourself. Silk or plastic vines can be hung around the room. Turn the room into "tribal council" by sitting torches by each chair.

6. Plan the entertainment. Create your own immunity and reward challenges. They can be physical challenges like races and obstacle courses or more mental challenges like puzzles and trivia games. Have a "Jeff Probst Impression Contest." See which of your guests can say "the tribe has spoken" most like the Emmy-winning host.
