Things You'll Need:
- Socket wrench Maxifilm or mystery oil Long arm socket wrench and ratchet
-
Step 1
Soak the mounting bolts on your old fender in mystery oil for at least three hours to help loosen them and break up rust. This will make removing them much easier.
-
Step 2
Remove your chrome bumpers from the package and lay them on a bench. Locate the mounting holes on these new fenders, and remove the film around them so that you can place the mounting bolts in the holes. Leave the rest of the film on the bumpers.
-
Step 3
Locate the mounting bolts on the old fender. Loosen them using a long-arm socket wrench with a ratchet head. Turn in a counterclockwise direction to loosen each bolt until it can be hand loosened. Do not remove the bolts.
-
Step 4
Hold the fender with one arm and hand loosen and remove each of the mounting bolts until you can take the fender off. Set it aside.
-
Step 5
Line up the new fender with the mounting hardware installed and hand tighten each one of the bolts until you cannot hand tighten them anymore. Then use your socket wrench on a ratchet head to completely tighten the fender.
