Prepare the car for the sale. Spend some time making the car more presentable to get more cash for it. Clean the inside and outside of the car thoroughly. This includes the windows, ashtray, dashboard, tires and all nooks and crannies. Fix any minor repairs. You could even wax it to give it a nice shine. Take several pictures of the car from every angle. Do not forget to get the inside as well. Download the pictures to your computer.

Create a flier to sell your car. Open a word processing application to a blank document. Name the flier and save it. Insert the picture or pictures of the car onto the document. Type "For Sale" in big bold letters across the top. List all the details regarding it under the photo. Include any work or new parts added recently, any additional options it has (Cold AC, 4WD, new brakes and so on). Type in your contact details below this information. Include both an email address and phone number.

Hand out your flier around the neighborhood. Print a number of copies of the flier. Put them on any accessible bulletin board. You can locate these at stores, libraries and community buildings, flea markets, garages, colleges and laundry mats in the surrounding area.

Advertise on your car to tell people you are selling it. Position the fliers in the windows where people can read them Use a special (glass) marker to write on the windows also. Write your phone number in big letters so it can be viewed from far away. Write other details on the windows of your vehicle. Write things like good gas mileage or new tires and more. Park your vehicle in a legal area next to an active road.

Employ online classified sites to sell your car. There are links to several of these in the Resources section below. Also, use any local classifieds websites that you know. Include the same information you did on the flier on all of these websites. If you can add a picture, upload one. There are even a few websites you can use to sell old junk or broken cars.
