Everyone could use extra money. Whether you're looking to pay down debts or start a savings account, having extra cash in your pocket each month can make a world of difference. Unfortunately, finding ways to make extra money requires patience and effort. Most people are busy and don't have a lot of free time. In this instance, they need a creative money-making strategy that's flexible and doesn't require a lot of time.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find an online opportunity. If you have access to the Internet, the money making opportunities are endless. Countless people make a living online. Consider freelance writing and create web copy for various online publications.
Websites such as Craigslist offer a host of writing opportunities. If you enjoy sales, open a Clickbank account and market an affiliate program. Post online classified ads or create a blog, and promote your affiliate business.

  2. Step 2

Sell personal items. One of the quickest ways to make money is to sell personal items. Go through your closet, attic and garage and find old clothes, furniture and other personal items. Hold a garage sale or take the items to the nearest consignment shop. Online auction sites such as Ebay are a great place to unload unused merchandise, and many people have found success with classified ads.

  3. Step 3

Rent out a room in your home. Nowadays, everyone's looking for ways to bring in extra cash. If you have an extra bedroom in your house, rent it out to a friend, college student or a complete stranger. Always ask for personal and professional references before renting to a tenant in your home.

  4. Step 4

Look for odd jobs. Put your talents and passions to good use and look for side jobs. Start a babysitting service after school or on the weekends. Offer to cut lawns, paint homes, walk dogs or run errands.

  5. Step 5

Recycle scrap metal. Scrap metal dealers are located in practically every city, and they accept a variety of items such as old appliances, storm doors, gutters, pipes and bed springs. Wake up early in the morning and drive around town. Look for metal items sitting on the curb, load them into a truck and take them to a scrap metal dealer.
