Anybody who has watched poker on TV has probably seen a pro shuffling his or her chips. Shuffling poker chips can be a way to intimidate other players at the table. It can also be distracting, because it simply looks cool when it's done right. As with cards, shuffling poker chips is actually much easier than it appears. All it takes is about 30 minutes of practice and a set of regular poker chips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make two stacks of poker chips. The stacks need to be even in order to shuffle them (i.e., two stacks of five chips each).

  2. Step 2

Place the poker chips side by side so they are touching one another.

  3. Step 3

Position your hand around the two stacks of poker chips. Place your thumb on the left side of the left stack (or right if you're using your left hand). Put your two middle fingers on the right side of the right stack. Then put your index finger in the middle of the chips, where they are touching.

  4. Step 4

Push the two stacks of chips up and together with your thumb and two middle fingers.

  5. Step 5

Use your index finger to shuffle and combine the two stacks of poker chips into one. When you push the stacks together, they will separate slightly and create room for this to occur. This is when you will use your index finger as a guide to create your one stack.

Tips & Warnings
  • Start off using two small stacks of chips (two stacks of three). Increase the amount of chips as you get the hang of shuffling. Shuffle the chips slowly until you get a feel for it. After a little while, you will be able to shuffle your poker chips quickly, like the pros do.
