How to Win a Domination Victory in "Civilization Revolution" for the Xbox 360

"Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution," a turn-based strategy game that puts you in control of one of 16 civilizations, offers four different ways to win the game. You can obtain a domination victory, cultural victory, economic victory or technology victory. To win a domination victory, you will need to destroy the capitols of the other civilizations by developing a strategy that focuses on early battle unit development and superior war technologies.

Instructions

1. Build at least three cities. As soon as your first city reaches a level three population, build a settler unit. Do this until you have at least three cities. The more cities you build, the more battle units you will be able to produce.

2. Build roads connecting to the capitol city. Once you have enough gold available, build roads leading all of your new cities to the capitol city. Building your cities relatively close to another will make the cost of roads cheaper and make the movement of battle units more efficient during battle.

3. Defend all of your cities early. Immediately research bronze working so that you can build barracks, which will give all your battle units veteran status. Build three battle units of every type available so that you have an army of each type. As you continue building battle units, be sure to equip every coastal city in your civilization with at least two galleys or galleons. This will enable you to ward off incoming attacks early in the game from opponents who can reach your civilization only by sea.

4. Develop advanced war technologies. Early technologies that will increase your battle units skill and will make available more advanced battle units are feudalism, iron working and navigation. As you progress through the game, be sure to research gunpowder, metallurgy, steam power, steel, combustion, flight and industrialization so that you can develop battleships, tanks and artillery units.

5. Go on major offensives with bomber units and tank units. These units, notwithstanding the atom bomb, are the most powerful battle units. Although you cannot take over a city with bomber units, they are best used as an offensive measure, as they allow you to destroy your enemy's cities from afar. Tank units can take over cities and are sure successes against cities with inferior technology.

Tips & Warnings

• Playing as the German civilization will give you head start in winning a domination victory because the Germans begin the game with veteran units. You will automatically win a domination victory if you destroy at least one civilization and if your civilization has the highest score by the year 2100. Build walls before battling bordering civilizations to increase your defense and prevent one of your cities from converting to your opponents' civilization. If you change your government to a democracy, you will not be able to declare wars or prolong wars when opposing civilizations offer of peace.

• As you take on greater difficulty levels in the game, such as Deity, you must adjust your strategy to attack opponents early and acquire more quickly advanced battle units.
