Guitar Hero is one of the most popular video games available for all major platforms. Its varying levels of difficulty allow the entire family to play together. Now that you can all be competitive, a fun way to challenge each other is to have a Guitar Hero tournament to see who is the true axe master--or mistress.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Video-game console Two or more guitars Batteries Food Prizes (optional)
  1. Step 1

Create a guest list. While you want a large number of people to attend, you do not want everyone to have to sit for hours listening to others. Keep the list of participants to about 15 to 20 people. (Of course, you can invite others just to watch.) Remember, not everyone you invite will be able to attend.

  2. Step 2

Send out your invitations. Include the following information: time, date, location, rules and a phone number to R.S.V.P. Send these invitations about 2 weeks in advance, to avoid having your plans ruined by prior engagements.

  3. Step 3

Prepare food for your party. Since not everyone will be playing at the same time, make sure you have plenty of snacks, or even a meal, to feed your guests. They may have to sit for awhile before taking their turn, so it is important you have something like food to keep them occupied.

  4. Step 4

Set the rules and explain them to everyone before the first person starts to play his song. You can have a set song list for everyone to follow, as well as tie-breaker rules if two people happen to have the same score at the end of a song.

  5. Step 5

Compete and give away prizes. Have fun as your guests battle each other to see who is the ultimate Guitar Hero. If you like, distribute small trinkets as prizes. You can give out gift cards, or even a home made T-shirt that reads "Guitar Hero."
