The most common reasons one might adopt an AutoHotKey script are to save the time of typing out certain words, shutting down your computer, stopping a song on a CD, or changing the sound level.

Save time repeatedly entering common words. Open "Macros" on the HotKey control panel. The first shaded area is where you type what will be the shortcut for the F7 key. Type in the wording you want a shortcut for. For example, instead of typing "To whom it may concern" every time you write a letter, you can fill that wording in the first shaded box.
