How to Program a Bell Remote Control

The Bell Remote Control is a remote receiver used by most Bell TV digital subscribers. Bell TV is the most prominent communications provider in Canada and offers a wide range of communication services. Programming a Bell Remote Control is quite similar to programming the Dish Network remote used by many digital subscribers in the U.S.

Things You'll Need

  • Bell remote control
  • Audio/Video components
  • Press the AUX button to begin programming your Bell remote control. When you press the AUX button, hold it down until all of the "mode" buttons are lit.

  • Program your TV. You can use your Bell remote to control several electronic devices (including your television, DVD player and VCR). To program your television, press "0."

  • Program video devices. To manage your VCR and DVD player through your Bell remote control, upon completing Step 1 press the number "1" on the remote.

  • Confirm and complete. Before concluding the process, look at the "remote code list," find the 3-digit code for your particular device/model, and input the code (see Resources). To validate everything you've done, press the pound sign (#) to conclude.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to complete each step within 20 seconds of each other, if not you will have to start over. Your inputs will not be saved if you go beyond the 20-second time frame.
