Things You'll Need:
- Beer glass
- Beer
-
Step 1
Not all beer should be served in a glass and different beers are served in different glasses. There are many different types of beer glasses; the Flute glass, Goblet glass, the Mug, Pilsner glass, Pint glass, the Snifter, the Strange, the Tulip, the Weizen glass and the over-sized wine glass.
-
Step 2
Each one of these glasses serves a different style of beer from American ale to Euro Lager. Knowing how to pour your beer into one of these glasses is key to a great tasting brew!
-
Step 3
The first thing you want to do is hand wash your beer glass to remove all oil and residue that might build up on the inside of the glass.
-
Step 4
Once you are done washing your glass, take a beer out of your frig and open it up. Make sure that it is cold before you open it. Do not freeze your glass before pouring in your beer! All this will do is dilute the beer and compromise the taste.
-
Step 5
Hold your beer glass at a forty-five degree angle and pour the beer into the middle of the glass. Do this slowly and keep the glass tilted until it is half way full.
-
Step 6
Once the glass is half way full, turn the glass straight and pour the rest of the beer directly into the center of the glass so that you can maximize your "head". It is always said that head on a beer is a bad thing. In reality, "head" is good because it keeps your beer from losing its flavor.
-
Step 7
This should leave you with about 3 inches or so of head and the rest beer. Now all you have to do is enjoy your tasty beverage!
