Things You'll Need:
- Dedication
- Perseverance
- A grocery list
- An enema kit (this is optional)
-
Step 1
Go to the grocery store and stock up on lots of fresh fruits and veggies, raw nuts and seeds, and perhaps some organic, omega eggs, and salmon or your favorite fish.
-
Step 2
Purchase an enema kit if you don't already have one (More about this later).
-
Step 3
Start eliminating processed foods, red meat, greasy foods, sodas, sugary processed juices and anything that isn't raw or in it's natural form. While preparing your body for the juice fast, since you'll be eliminating other forms of protein, you can add the organic, omega eggs and/or salmon or tuna to your diet.
-
Step 4
Within a few days of the first day of your juice fast, eliminate the eggs and fish, consuming only the fresh fruits and veggies. This is a good time to actually start incorporating fresh, raw juices into your daily diet as to help your body make the final transition from solid food to a liquid fast.
-
Step 5
During the time you're working to eliminate unhealthy foods from your diet, you can administer a warm water enema to help your body rid itself of toxins that may cause headaches and flu-like symptoms. This will make for a much smoother experience and will help keep your body from feeling like it's just being shocked into all healthy raw juices from a diet of meat and processed foods and drinks.
-
Step 6
When you juice fast, your body is receiving the living enzymes and vitamins from the fruits and veggies right into your blood stream. Enjoy the experience. If you have a headache, remember the enema will help eliminate those toxins from your body that is causing it. Enjoy the juice fasting experience and be healthy!

on 11/22/2008 I've done the Master Cleanse, which is probably an extreme form of juice fast. It sounds very interesting. I'll have to try it. Thanks for an introduction to a very interesting idea! 5 stars.

on 11/20/2008 Thanks CCrock! The reason you got sick and had a horrible headache is because your body was detoxing all that junk and you were feeling it - big time! I'm so glad this article inspired you to give juice fasting another try. Best wishes on juicing and your health!

on 11/20/2008 This is great. I've tried doing juice fasts before and I couldn't make it to the end of one day, I felt sick and had an aweful headache, but I did nothing to prepare and ate horrible leading up to it. Actually, eating worse before it, thinking I would enjoy junk while I could because after the juice fast, I thought I would be "reset" and not be eating bad stuff. Anyways, I didn't make it. I'm saving this in my favorites for the next time I decide to give it a try :)

on 11/15/2008 How sick did you get? Even when you do a juice fast correctly, you can experience flu-like symptoms and migraines because your body is detoxing. :-)
Glad you enjoyed the information!
