Stuffing is a traditional side dish served on Thanksgiving. It can either be cooked inside the turkey, or separately in an oven safe casserole dish. This recipe is cooked separately.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 loaf either white bread, french bread, or honey whole wheat bread.
  • 1 20 oz cans crushed pineapple in heavy syrup, or half a fresh pineapple cut in 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 stalks celery thinly sliced
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sage
  • .5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • ~~~~~~~
  • 1 9x13 pan, greased
  1. Step 1

Separate pineapple chunks and syrup. If using pre-sliced bread, tear bread into fourths, otherwise, tear bread into 1.5 inch cubes. Place bread in large bowl, and add DRAINED pineapple chunks, diced onion, celery, and seasonings. Toss until well mixed. Mmmmmmm, stuffing.

In a separate bowl, beat the three eggs with half cup of milk and pineapple syrup and gradually pour over the bread mixture so that everything is evenly coated. The bread should absorb the liquid. If the mixture seems to dry, add some extra milk or even turkey stock if you have it on hand.

  3. Step 3

Set oven to 350 degrees. Spread bread mixture evenly into pan and place in the center of oven. Cook for about 20 minutes or until top is golden. Voila! Your stuffing is done.
