With the holidays just around the corner, a wonderful way to share the joy of the season with your children is to make homemade Christmas Cards with them. These homemade Christmas cards are an easy to make craft that children of almost all ages can help with.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a photo of your family that is recent. You want to share with the friends and family that receive these great homemade Christmas cards how much the children have grown through out the year. The photos should a 3X5 size.

  2. Step 2

Choose a piece of construction paper to be your card. Any color of paper will work. The most common colors for these cards are usually red and green. Let your children choose special colors for each relative to really give your cards that personalized feel.

  3. Step 3

Fold the construction paper in half. On the front of the card place the photograph of your family. Secure the photo into place with glue. Acid free glue can be used and will help to make these cards a keepsake that will last a lifetime.

  4. Step 4

Use the ribbon to create a decorative border for the photo. You can have older children help to measure the ribbon for each side of the photo. Cut the ribbon and glue the pieces into place.

  5. Step 5

You can place dots of glue around and on the ribbon to add glitter to your Christmas cards to make them even more festive. Shake the glitter over the glue dots and allow it to dry thoroughly. This step is optionally.

  6. Step 6

Open the card and have your children write personalized notes to each person that you will be sending these homemade Christmas cards to. Place them into envelopes and mail them out to all of your family’s loved ones.
