How to make a reward chart or behavior chart for Your Child
This chart has become very useful to me because my son has ADHD with ODD. It helps keep consistency and structure. It also helps your child visualize his or her progress when they are rewarded for good behavior. These instructions are for someone who is familiar with using Excel. If you are not familiar with Excel you can use a pencil, paper and a ruler and then make copies. Visit http://adhdparentingkids.blogspot.com this blog is for parents that have children with ADHD. For each good behavior you can put a check mark or a sticker. You will need to create boxes on the chart. *See visual example*

Decide what the rewards are going to be and how many check marks or stickers are needed to earn the reward. For example: I set 10 for the easiest things to give my son and 40 for something big like a trip to ChuckECheese. (You don't want to give 10 for a big reward because you want to make sure you can commit to it)

Also list a time out area on the chart for your child. For example; I listed the steps as a time out area. Again this is a visual for your child and you need to keep consistent!
Tips & Warnings
It is important to be consistent and keep a commitment to this. It has helped me and my son improve on some behaviors that needed to change. If you even want your child to put their book bag away list it on the chart and when they do it they get a check mark or sticker and then a reward!
