If you haven't done so already, sign-in to your account. If you don't have an account, sign-up for one. If you have a Yahoo! account, there's a good chance you have a Flickr account but just haven't used it yet.

  2. Step 2
    Yahoo! Sign-In Page

I already have an account with Yahoo! so I am using my account credentials from that account to login to Flickr (Yahoo! owns Flickr).

Flickr supports JPEGs, non-animated GIFs, and PNGs. Flickr mentions that you can also upload TIFFs and some other file types, but they will automatically be converted to and stored in JPEG format. Browse to and select the image you want to upload. You can select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl button. Press the OK button once you have selected all the images.

  5. Step 5

When you have finished selecting the images for uploading, make sure that you haven't exceeded your size limit. Flickr has a Pro account that allows unlimited uploads and storage. I will also mention that it features Ad-Free browsing and sharing!

Are you going to share your photos to the world or do you only want friends/family to view your photos? Depending on the size of your photos, you may experience a delay in moving to the next screen after selecting Upload Photos.

  7. Step 7
    Describe This Upload
    Describe This Upload

Under Batch Operations, add Tag (MetaTag) keywords to help others find your pictures on the World Wide Web. Under Titles, Descriptions, and Tags, add a Title and Description specific to the picture. Press SAVE when you have finished this step.

  8. Step 8
    Your Photostream

Congratulations, you have successfully uploaded photos to Flickr! Repeat the above steps and get started on your Photostream. You can also create Sets (limited to three with the free account) under which you can categorize your uploads. Happy viewing!
