Using TurboTax is easy, efficient and cost saving. The program is the same one many tax prepares use, so cut out the middle person and start preparing your own taxes.

1. First Google TurboTax. That will take you to Turbo Tax options and click on TurboTax Official site to begin tax preparations.

2. Looking at the TurboTax home page there will be many options. First create an account and then decide which package fits your tax preparation needs. The options are Basic, Deluxe, Premier and Business. Most people will need Deluxe or Basic.

3. From there using TurboTax is very easy. The questions are offered in a step by step process, starting with the basic information such as name, address, social security name; simply fill them out.

4. Have all the proper forms ready from income earned to investment sheets. TurboTax will ask for all income and investment earned, from stocks to rental properties, to tips. Make sure all information can be found.

5. Don't panic if TurboTax asks questions you have no answers for. Many of the questions simply will not apply, it is looking for deductions or other complicated forms of income or revenue.
