Step 1
Take a look at the "Black Friday" ads and decide which items you are going to purchase. Most retailers will open earlier than usual and the hot ticket items are generally while supplies last. So, before you go shopping map out where you are going and what you are trying to buy. (This will save you valuable time.)

Step 2
Get a good nights sleep, you will have to wake up early. Most people who go shopping on Black Friday leave the house at 4 a.m. The closer you are to the front of the line the more likely you will get to buy that item before the store runs out.

Step 3
If possible bring a friend to help. It always helps to have an extra set of hands. Some retailers will only sell one deal per customer, so if you want two of that hot, cheap item your friend can help.

Step 4
Be patient and wear comfortable clothes. You may have to stand in a long line, early in the morning, and with a lot of other people. If you hang in there, you will be able to save a substantial amount of money.
