1. Many individuals and businesses are turning to cell phones as their primary method of communication. With the capability of e-faxes, many small businesses do not have a land-line phone at all. The downside to all of this technology is that until recently it was nearly impossible to get a cell phone or Voip phone listed with 411.

   Well now you can add your cell phone or Voip phone number to your local directory assistance (411) for very little or free.

2. The first method we are going to look at is the one that costs a little money. When I say a little, I mean little. I listed my cell phone for $1.05 a month. OK, let's get started. This is to list your cell or Voip as a business listing.

3. You will be calling Verizon. Dial 1-800-500-5419

4. When you get a representative on the line tell them you want a "foreign listing". 9 times out of 10 they will know what you are talking about. If the person you get acts like you just spoke to them in a foreign language (no pun intended) just hang up and call back, you'll get someone new. Ask again for a "foreign listing"

5. You will have to give them your name, name of business, phone number etc. Again, depending on who you get, they will either tell you they'll call you back later to confirm your order or your will get a confirmation at the end of your call.

6. Verizon charged me a $16 setup fee and $1.05 a month. These charges should be tax deductible also (check with your tax advisor to be sure). It usually takes a couple of days to get listed. Just call 411 every once in a while and ask for your company. It's pretty exciting when you are finally listed.

7. This next method is the "freebee" method to getting your cell phone or voip phone listed with 411.

   Go to http://www.listyourself.net click on the "Click Here to be Listed" link.

   Fill in your information.

10. Select "call me" at the bottom of the page and click on "Add Listing"

11. You will receive an automated phone call at which time you will be prompted to enter the numbers you see on your screen to verify your listing.

12. It's as easy as that! You should be listed in 72 hours.

    No matter what method you choose, you will find it is easy to get your business listed in the directory service system. It's cheap and easy and adds credibility to your business to be listed with 411. Good Luck!
