Step 1
www.JSInteriorDes.Blogspot.comOften, I find many of my client struggle with the decision making of selecting paint colors. I agree, it can be an overwhelming challenge. I do many on site color consultations in addition to pulling together presentations for my clients where we address the issue of color selection. My best advice, on your own, is to analyze the existing elements: architecture, style, flooring, window treatments, furniture, etc to draw color inspiration from.

Step 2
www.JSInteriorDes.Blogspot.comIt may be helpful to look thru magazines and books along with paint color palettes featured in paint color brochures to review and finalize color concepts. I like to make a concept board to pull everything together: For example knowing your floor treatments and how it will effect the color of the walls adjacent to fabrics and window treatments.
-
Step 3
www.JSInteriorDes.Blogspot.comNext, determine your trim color - I typically do a white for doors, baseboards, molding, and any other trim elements including ceilings. However, these rules are meant to be broken and sometimes I will paint a baseboard or crown molding. I suggest a warm white for more traditional interiors or a brighter white for modern - but looking and determining the best white from the paint manufacture you are using is the best suggestion.
