Pizza crust is simple to make if you know the basics of making it. In this recipe, you will have a great tasting pizza in a smaller amount of time than usual.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup of white bleached flour
  • 1 package of instant or fast action yeast
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3/4 cup of warm water
  • Optional: 1 cup ofcornmeal
  1. Step 1

Grab a large bowl (preferably glass) and mix together the flour, yeast, and salt using a wooden spoon.

  2. Step 2

Slowly start mixing the water into the mix.

  3. Step 3

When the mix is no longer stirable, start using your hands to fully mix it together (remove rings first).

  4. Step 4

When all the ingredients are fully mixed, dump the contents of the bowl on top of a floured surface.

  5. Step 5

Next, using your hands, beat the heck out of it for 10-15 minutes or until the dough is like elastic and doesn't break when thrown around.

  6. Step 6

Using the olive oil, coat the glass bowl and lump of dough thoroughly and then place the dough into the bowl. But the bowl in a warm humid place and let it sit for up to two hours or until it has gotten twice as big. (one option is to draw a HOT bath and place the bowl in the bathroom with the door closed! It really works great!)

  7. Step 7

When the dough is really big, put it back on your floured surface and beat it again. Then, spread the optional layer of cornmeal on the table and press the bottom of your pizza crust into it to give it that restaurant feel to it.

  8. Step 8

Next, place your rounded, flattened crust onto a pizza sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes and 475-500 degrees Fahrenheit or until the crust begins to brown. Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, add your toppings, bake, and the rest is up to you.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use whole wheat for a more nutritious crust.
  • Dough sticks to jewellery badly, so remove all of it
  • Don't burn yourself.
