With over 17 million unique visitors a month eHow has become a great way to promote a business. Many small business owners have reported a substantial income increase due their participation at eHow. While there are hundreds of good social sites to choose from, eHow stands out because they are a website pack full of information for members and non-members alike. A business that is able to teach their customers to become better informed through writing are more likely benefit from eHow.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    After signing up for eHow, use a picture of you or a business logo as a avatar. To change any information in you personal profile click on the "my profile tab" at the top of a eHow page and select edit profile next to the avatar icon.

  2. Step 2

    Link to your business website to your eHow profile page. When visitors visit your profile they may click on your website link to find out more about you and your business.

  3. Step 3

    Under the profession section in your profile, type a short semi-personable description of your business and what it does.

  4. Step 4

    Write helpful how to articles in subjects of your business. For example: If your business is in Printing, a article on how to create a effective business card would be appropriate. Avoid articles that appear to be total self promotion. Articles that sound like advertisements are deleted.

  5. Step 5

    When writing articles that are related to your business,link your business website to the bottom of the article through the resource section.

  6. Step 6

    Become friends with eHow members that share similar interests. Find freinds by searching the eHow website for articles you enjoy. Comment on the articles and request them as a friend. This can be done by clicking on the "request as a friend" tab on their profile page.

  7. Step 7

    Read articles in your business field and leave educated comments. Many visitors and members read comments and will click to see your profile if they are interested in learning more.

on 1/2/2009 Yes tocuriousgeorg it is possible to promote your ebay or amazon business through ehow using the same techniques. Just be careful to only ad your links to articles of relevant subjects. For instance if you are writing a article about grants you may find a link to a book about grants to use.
