Step 1
Camera.
To start out you will need a camera. If you are trying to make a film that has been very well put together, then I suggest you buy a HD camera. The HD stands for high definition. Many movies and films are being shot in this, so I suggest staying on the edge of technology. -
Step 2
Actors and actresses.
While you probably won't be able to afford Brad Pitt, there are plenty of other actors out there for the fraction of the price. Some actually might want to be part of the movie for sheer experience. That's why many community theaters have great actors and actresses. -
Step 3
Props and set.
Before you can even begin you shooting, you will need a location and props. It's best to get all of these things together before you have hired on the actors and actresses. Or you will be paying them just to sit around while every puts together pieces of the set. This should be one of your main focuses near the beginning of the film. -
Step 4
Budget.
No one wants one, but everyone needs one. It's a budget. Get all of your funds together and see what you are able to spend. You have to factor in props, set, travel, actors, etc. Make sure you don't forget anything or it could eat into your profits without you even knowing. -
Step 5
Crew.
You will probably need help with filming and scenes. So make sure you have a crew with you that is trained with cameras and other equipment. There may be a time when you were not able to get a shot but another crew member was. Make sure you have hired someone that already knows the ropes; it will make it less stressful on you.
