Choosing Comic Book Gifts

Comic book fans come in all ages, and finding the right gift for them can be a chore if you're not a collector yourself. This year, give a unique comic book or super hero gift for the comic fan in your life that they'll be sure to treasure.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Send them to a comic convention. Comic conventions happen all over the country throughout the year. As the conventions usually start selling tickets months in advance, you’re sure to find a convention near you just in time for gift giving.

  2. Step 2

Opt for a unique promotional item. Comic books shops, online auctions and collector websites sell not only rare or older comic books; they often have promotional posters, prints and figurines. One hot collector’s item these days is a super hero dictionary written in the 1970s for school children. The book has hundreds of pages filled with comic book quotes and stories sure to amuse comic book collectors.

  3. Step 3

Make your comic fan a super hero. Some online companies print personalized comic books where you can be the hero. Or try out comic book creator software to make a special gift for someone. The comic book creator software also makes a great gift on its own.

  4. Step 4

Head to the book store. Comic books aren’t just magazines anymore. Book stores carry large volume collector comics, comic book art, comic book encyclopedias and much more. Head to the graphic novel section of most book stores to find the right gift.

  5. Step 5

Give the gift of animation. If you have a comic fan in your life, they’re more than likely an animation or live action comic fan as well. Animation cells are usually more expensive than traditional comic book gifts, but they’ll quickly become the star of a comic collection.

Tips & Warnings
  • When buying original comic works, illustrations or cells, be sure to get a certificate of authenticity from the seller.
