Things You'll Need:
- A hobby or skill to teach
- Time to teach
- Someone to learn
-
Step 1
Write down your hobbies and skills; things you enjoy doing and can do well. Look through the classes offered through community education to get ideas for the kinds of things people might be interested in learning.
-
Step 2
Here are some ideas to get you started. Photography. Drawing. Painting. Scrap booking. Operating a computer. Selling on ebay. Setting up and running a website. Organizing skills. Interior decoration. Sewing. Knitting. Crocheting. Cooking. Decorating cakes. Planning a menu. Woodworking. Refinishing furniture.
-
Step 3
Decide what skills you feel confident to teach. Match them with the people on your Christmas list. Make a note of the times people have said, “That’s so neat--I wish I could do that!”
-
Step 4
Create a special gift certificate or card that makes clear what skill is being offered. Print it out on sturdy paper. Give it with a smile!
