How to Buy Comfortable Stylish Shoes
Ballet flats have tiptoed their way back into style. Not all flats are created equal, so do a little research before finding the perfect shoe that will have you comfy and stylish in no time.

First, test the flexibility of the bottom sole. If the sole bends in the middle when you bend the shoe, it doesn't have enough support. Make sure the sole is thick enough for proper support.
-
2
Look for extra cushioning in the insole. Comfort lines such as Aerosoles, Naturalizer and Easy Spirit have ballet flats with extra cushion.

3
Buy a flat that is your perfect size. If it's too big it will flop around; too small will be uncomfortable. If the shoe is leather and fits perfectly and a tiny bit snug, it will stretch a little.
-

Ballet flats that have a slight heel or wedge can also add comfort for walking and help with heel pain.
-
5
For a sporty look, consider a flat with a strap across the top. Sneaker makers offer this type of flat -- perfect for walking and other activities.

Tips & Warnings
Add an insole to provide extra arch support.
Wear moisture absorbing insoles. Some are even scented.
Every so often, alternate flats with shoes with a little heel; rotating the shoes is better for you and for the shoes.
