Who says you have to buy your wedding gown? If you have your heart set on a
designer gown but can't afford the heavy
price tag, then consider renting your gown. Remember, you will only be wearing it once!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    don't wait!
    don't wait!

SHOP EARLY: The last thing you want to do is wait until the last minute to find your gown, so start your search a few months in advance. This way, you will be able to comparison shop so that you can get the best gown at the best price. Remember you will need to choose
from the gowns that the company has in stock.

  2. Step 2

YOUR STYLE: It's good to have some ideas in mind about the type of ceremony you are having and the type of gown that will be appropriate.
For example, if your wedding is formal you will want a fancier gown
and perhaps a long train. You will also want to consider the type of
gown that will be most flattering on you. If you are petite, look for a sheath, mermaid or A-line gown that won't overpower your delicate frame.

  3. Step 3

WHAT'S INCLUDED?: Each rental company is unique and will have
their own policies. Some will include your gown and all your accessories for one package price. Some companies will make small
alterations and some will not. You need to be sure your gown fits
because you will not be permitted to alter it yourself.

PAY IN ADVANCE: It's a good idea to plan to pay upfront for your rental
gown. Some companies may require advance payment. You should not
have to worry about the dry cleaning, just be sure you know when
    the gown must be returned.

  5. Step 5

BRIDESMAIDS: Some rental shops also rent bridesmaids gowns!
Again, depending on the size of your wedding party, you may want
to consider the option of having your girlfriends rent their gowns.
"Fairy Godmother Gown Rentals" (online) offers rental gowns for bridesmaids.
