How to Prevent Head Lice

We've all heard about the many ways to treat head lice but how many times have you actually thought of preventing it? Possibly never. Preventing head lice isn't hard to do. It doesn't cost a lot of money and the ingredients you'll have left over can be used a ton of ways. The great thing about natural remedies is that so many of them don't cost much money - yet they work. This is something you could very easily and inexpensively do before the school year starts, for example. Or before you enroll that little one in the new daycare. After all, that's what natural medicine is all about, right? Prevention. It's the way to go!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Tea Tree Oil
Your regular bottle of shampoo (or an empty spray bottle)

Step 1

Add 12 drops of Tea Tree Oil to your regular shampoo bottle.
Step 2

Close the lid and shake well to mix it all up.
Step 3

Use this mixture each time you wash your hair. By simply applying this shampoo regularly, you're preventing yourself (or your child) from getting head lice. Those nasty little critters just hate Tea Tree Oil!

Tips & Warnings

Add 12 drops to ¼ pint water to a spray bottle. Mist hair each morning with this solution. Lice do not like this, so hair is kept free of unwanted guests.
