This technique is a great option for those who are transitioning from chemically relaxed hair to au natural. This style is quick and very simple to do. The result is spiraled curled hair without the use of heat or chemicals.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A wide tooth comb
  • Skinny parting comb
  • Hair Clip
  • A water bottle (spray or spout)
  • Setting lotion or setting foam
  • A towel
  • A hooded hair dryer (optional)
  1. Step 1

Begin with freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Lightly towel-dry the hair leaving it slightly damp.

  2. Step 2

Apply a setting lotion to hair and using a wide tooth comb, evenly distribute throughout hair, concentrating on the ends of your hair.

  3. Step 3

Part a 1 inch section of hair from hairline to nape. Secure the remaining hair with a hairclip.

  4. Step 4

Double strand twist the 1 inch section of hair from forehead to nape in a cornrow fashion. If your hairline tends to frizz, apply gel at the hairline prior to twisting the hair.

When the 1 inch section of hair is completely twisted, secure the end with a rubber band. You may also secure the ends with a small foam roller.

  6. Step 6

Repeat steps 3 through 5 until the hair is completely corn rowed with double strand twists. NOTE: If hair dries while you work, mist with water.

  7. Step 7

To set the hair, sit under a hooded dryer until hair is completely dry or allow the hair to air dry overnight. When the hair is completely dry, remove rollers or rubber bands and untwist the hair section by section.

  8. Step 8
