Things You'll Need:
- Christmas Tree
- Decorations
-
Step 1
Brainstorm with your family to decide on the theme for your themed Christmas tree. You can decorate a Christmas tree based on sports, hobbies, things you love. Let your imagination go wild as you think of ideas.
-
Step 2
You can also pick an idea for your themed Christmas tree based on a period of time (Victorian tree); a season or just an object that you like. My tree is a fruit & vegetable tree. It is decorated with glass ornamments in the shapes of peas, grapes, bananas, sugar frosted plums, peaches and more. Each year I buy one beautiful glass fruit or vegetable to add to the tree. At the top I also have a few very special glass ornaments; birds, a mushroom and a Santa that I bought years ago.
-
Step 3
Get the theme for your themed Christmas tree down to two or three and discuss which works best with your budget and would be the most fun to do. Keep in mind that you will want to avoid a lot of breakable ornaments if you have small children or pets.
-
Step 4
Purchase or make the ornamnets for your tree. Ornaments can be made out of so many things for your themed Christmas tree. You can also visit the dollar store to find little things that will put the finishing touches on your themed Christmas tree.
-
Step 5
Enjoy decorating the tree with your family. Serve hot cocoa and play Christmas music. Planning and decorating a themed Christmas tree is a great way to make memories that will last for years.
