Gratitude is important in all cultures and saying thank you is the best way to express that. Below are ways to say thank you in a few common languages.

  1. Step 1

    Look up and listen to the correct pronounciation on the intenet. Some of these can be difficult to say. If you have friends that speak one of these languages, ask them the proper way to say Thank You.

    ARABIC - chokrane CHINESE - xièxie FRENCH - merci GERMAN - danke GREEK - efharisto HAWAIIAN - mahalo INDONESIAN - terima kasih ITALIAN - grazie JAPANESE - arigatô

  3. Step 3

    KOREAN - kam sah hamnida MONGOLIAN - bayarlalaa PORTUGUESE obrigado (-a) RUSSIAN - spacibo SPANISH - gracias / muchas gracias SWAHILI - asante / asante sana SWEDISH - tack THAI - kop khun kha - woman speaking, kop khun krap - man speaking

  4. Step 4

    Remember, saying Thank You is always polite no matter where you are. It can be fun to prace the phrases in these different languages.
