How to get your baby to sleep through the night.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience, will power.
  1. Step 1

A week before you try this get your baby into a routine, put them to bed at the same time every night, and do the same things every night. Bath, story or anything that's relaxing to your baby.

  2. Step 2

Here comes the hard part, you must put your baby to sleep while they are still awake, no rocking to sleep. Drowsy is fine but not fully asleep. make sure the babies eyes are still open, no cheating.

  3. Step 3

After laying your baby down, leave the room. Your baby is probably going to cry. Mine cried for 45 minutes the first night we did this. The next night for 20 minutes, the third nights for less than 10. by the forth night it was about 1 minute of crying and then lights out.

  4. Step 4

My babies sleep like rocks now, its not for the faint of heart I basically sat by their door rocking myself but we tried all of the cuddly ways first. I hope this helps I wish we tried this method first

on 4/16/2009 I used the techniques from The No-Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley because my parenting instincts let me know CIO is not the right way. Once I implemented her ideas my son's sleep improved greatly without causing permanent harm:http://www.sleepnet.com/infant3/messages/534.htmlhttp://www.phdinparenting.com/2008/07/05/no-cry-it-out/http://drbenkim.com/articles-attachment-parenting.htmlhttp://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/handout2.asp
