Things You'll Need:
- Oven bag
- supreme cut corned beef
- 1 can of vernors (pop)
- small bag of carrots
- 2 heads of cabbage
- 6 medium potatoes
-
Step 1
preheat oven to 300,
rinse corned beef then place in oven bag,
pour 1 can of vernors (ginger ale if not available) in bag,
tie bag and make a small ( 1 inch) slit in top of bag.
place in oven in a uncovered roasting pan. -
Step 2
Cook for at least three hours, depending on size maybe longer.
its hard to screw up this recipe. I've had mine in the oven as long as 7 hours and never over cooked it. Corned beef is done when a fork goes through it like its soft butter. -
Step 3
Pull corned beef out. pour juices into a large pot.
quarter potatoes, cut carrots in half and put into pot w/juice,
cover the veggies up with water and bring to boil.
after 7 minutes of a boil, quarter cabbage ( you can use toothpicks to hold it together) put in pot and boil until veggies are cooked.
drain. dump into roaster, slice corn beef into strips. -
Step 4
Slice up, Serve, Enjoy
