How to Use Hot Keys for Windows Vista

With these hot keys, you will be able to work faster on your computer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • keyboard
  1. Step 1

    control + A lets you select everything on the page that you are working with.

  2. Step 2

    control + C lets you copy all the information that is selected or highlighted.

  3. Step 3

    control + V lets you paste the copied information into a new window or blank document.

  4. Step 4

    control + X allows you to cut the selected information. You can then use control + V to paste it again.

  5. Step 5

    control + escape lets you open the start menu.

  6. Step 6

    control + F4 closes the document that you are currently working on.

  7. Step 7

    alt + tab allows you to switch between the things that you are currently working on.

  8. Step 8

    the windows key + E opens my computer and lets you search through it.

  9. Step 9

    windows key + D minimizes all windows that you are currently working with. If you press it again, it will make them come back.

  10. Step 10

    windows key + L locks the keyboard and you will have to enter your password to get back into whatever you were working on.

  11. Step 11

    Work faster and more efficiently. Get to know the keys and impress your friends with how fast you can get things done.

Tips & Warnings
  • try and get to the point where you don't have to look at the keys when you are using the hot keys.

Windows Key + R --> Run... menu.
Windows key + Pause/Break --> System properties
Alt + F4 --> Close application.
