Things You'll Need:
- Wrapping paper ($1 Roll)
- Ribbon ($1 Roll)
- Baking bags ($1 for 20)
- Tissue ($1 for 40)
- Fabric ($1 a yard at Wal-Mart clearance)
- Scissors
- Clear Tape
-
Step 1
Buy your supplies at low costs. Check out your local Dollar Store, Thrift Store, craft store, and Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has fabric on sale for $1 a yard. The thrift stores usually have ribbon, cards, stickers, bags, and fabric. Sift through the goodies, your bound to find something. Buy wrapping paper, ribbon, tissue paper, and the most important baking bags at the Dollar Store for typically $1.
-
Step 2
Colored Tissue PaperTake your gift and surround it in several layers of colored tissue paper.
-
Step 3
Clear bagsThen slide the present carefully in a baking bag or clear gift bag. You won't be able to see the present because it is wrapped in colored tissue paper. Then tie several pieces of colored ribbon around the bag to secure it, tie the ribbon in a knot, and use your scissors to finish with curly ribbons.
-
Step 4
Wrapped Wine Bottle! You can also use fabric and ribbon to wrap presents that are difficult to wrap. Wine bottles, buckets of goodies, or canisters can be wrapped in this fashion.
-
Step 5
You can use wrapping paper bought for $1 a roll to wrap packages with hard edges such as boxes. Cut several layers of your ribbon, tie a knot in the center, carefully pull your scissors along the ribbons to curl, and tape your homemade bow to the wrapped present.
-
Step 6
And a final trick to use instead of buying labels! Cut scrap wrapping paper into little rectangles, fold in half, tape only the back half to the present, and write your greeting in the center. A FREE LABEL!
Happy Wrapping!
