Step 1
Comparative shop for the best pricing on formulaCompare formula brands. When I was in the hospital after giving birth to my daughter, she was started on a certain brand of formula that happened to be one of the most expensive ones on the shelves. I automatically assumed that if the hospital was using it, it must be the best formula. After spending a significant amount of money on case after case my doctor told me that any other brand that also contained iron would be just as good. Learn from my mistake and be a comparative shopper. The only thing I wouldn't recommend based on what my doctor told me was that you shouldn't switch to a different type of formula. For example if your baby is used to iron based formula, don't switch to soy based in the name of saving money. Stick with the same type of formula but just find the cheaper brand.

Step 2
Sign up for free formula samples and couponsSign up for freebies. Do a search online of all the different manufacturers that carry the formula type you are in need of. Become a member of their club for free and you will automatically be sent coupons and most times even samples of formula for free. The coupons can really save you a lot of money every month.

Step 3
Buy for a discounted price on Ebay. Most people don't realize it but Ebay is full of auctions for formula. Many times you can save up to 50% off the retail price and many buyers will offer free shipping. You can even purchase formula coupons on Ebay for pennies on the dollar.
