As long as you have internet, you are at risk of becoming a victim of online fraud. There will always be people out there looking to take advantage of you. Online fraud cost companies and consumers millions of dollars a year. There are some simple things that you can do to keep from becoming a victim of online fraud. This article will give you some tips as well as resources for reporting online fraud.

  1. Step 1

    Never open emails from senders that you do not know.

  2. Step 2

    Never give your password to anyone in an email or phone conversation, even if they claim that they are customer support.

  3. Step 3

    Monitor all of your accounts closely, and watch for irregular activity.

  4. Step 4

    Change your password every 60 to 90 days.

  5. Step 5

    Fraudulent emails often contain bad grammar and misspellings.

  6. Step 6

    Beware of messages or emails offering prizes or promising money.

  7. Step 7

    Update your anti-virus software frequently.

  8. Step 8

    Use the website below to report any and all fraud that you notice online.
