Step 1
A big zit: A touch of tea tree oil will help reduce the size of a zit. To help even more apply a cold wash cloth to the zit for 2 minutes then apply a topical hydro-cortisone cream. If a big zit happens right before a big event, visit the dermatologist for a cortisone injection to help acne vanish in about a day.
-
Step 2
Bumps forming under the skin: The bumps, other words known as pimples can can be painful and can pop up quickly. To reduce swelling wrap an ice cube in a paper towel and apply to pimple for up to 2 minutes. Repeat process two to three times a day. To smooth the pain of acne spread a small amount of tea tree oil on the pimple.
-
Step 3
Flaking skin: Do not peel off the skin, instead apply a cream based cleanser in a circular motion. Then use a 1 percent hydro-cortisone cream to calm further acne irritation.

on 3/21/2009 Most oil free name brand and some generic acne creams will have hydro-cortisone in them that you can find at many retailers. Tea tree oil can be found with herbal applicants in the pharmaceuticals.

on 11/9/2008 Great tips! I didn't know about hydro-cortizone. I have always had good luck with benzoil peroxide, but I know not every product works for every person :) 5*
