Step 1
Share your feelings with a close friend or relative that is grieving the same loss you are. No one can understand exactly what you are going through better then someone who is sharing in your loss. Be honest with your thoughts and support one another through this difficult time. Make time each day to touch base with the other person and check in on each other.

Step 2
Talk to a professional. Sometimes there are certain feelings that we experience after the loss of a loved one that we do not feel comfortable sharing with other people in our lives. You may feel that everyone else has moved on and there must be something wrong if you haven't. As a result you hide your grief. You need to understand the there is no time frame for getting over your loss. Different people heal at different rates. Sometimes a professional will allow you to speak your mind without worrying about being judged.

Step 3
Write a letter to the person you are mourning. I know this may sound off the wall because obviously they will never be able to read it. Sometimes the reason we find it so hard to move on after a loss is because we feel guilt over things that we regret and wish we could take back. Other times we may feel that we never got a chance to properly say goodbye. Sit down and write everything you are feeling. Know that no one will ever read this letter except you so it is ok to be completely truthful about everything that you have bottled up inside.
