Chai tea is best described as fall in a cup. This recipe calls for all dry ingredients which makes it a great Christmas gift for co-workers, friends, and neibors!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup non-fat dry milk powder
  • 1 cup powdered non dairy creamer
  • 1 cup French Vanella non dairy creamer
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar or 1 1/4 cups of Splenda
  • 1 1/2 cup of unsweetened instant tea
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. ground cardamom
  • small holiday canisters
  1. Step 1

Combine all the ingredients. Some use a blender but mixing well with a spoon in a large bowl will work just fine.

  2. Step 2

Cute holiday canisters can be found at discount or dollar stores. Spoon this Chai Tea mixture in to the canisters. This recipe makes quite a bit. You should be able to make at least four.

  3. Step 3

Tie a pretty ribbon around the canister. Don't forget to include the following instructions: Add two heaping tablespoons to a cup of hot water and enjoy! I like to make little instruction notes on the computer, hole punch them and attach them with the ribbon.

  4. Step 4

This is also a great recipe for holiday parties. It's a delicious and very unique hot beverage! People love it and will beg you for the recipe!

Tips & Warnings
  • I like to keep a couple of these gifts in my car and at the house around the holidays. That way if someone unexpectedly gives us a gift, we have one for them too!
  • Ground cardamom is the most expensive ingredient and can be hard to find. Try a gourmet foods store or a local farmers market.

on 11/20/2008 This would be great for extended family and friends, instead of those expensive cheese baskets we buy.

on 11/20/2008 Great ideas - thanks for the recipe. Good idea to leave an extra gift in the car. That can be an awkward situation!
