1
Choose the best place for your Geraniums. Sunrooms, which can often be too hot for many house plants, make an ideal home for your geraniums. Here you will be able to enjoy them all year long.
When new growth begins in spring, repot your geraniums into a fresh soil-based potting mix. Never pot them in peat moss as this medium holds so much water the base of the plants may rot. -
2
Keep your plants clean. Geraniums like to be clean so remove dead leaves and flowers promptly.
Feed them a high-potash liquid diet and water them regularly but sparingly.
Find the growing tips of the plants and pinch them out when growth begins. This will force the plant to branch and bush out. -

3
Get ready. To propagate your geraniums, it is ideal to take your cuttings before they are preparing to winter.
Cut out a healthy cutting that has several strong leaves. Remove the lower leaves and, with a sharp blade, cut across the stem just below a leaf joint. -
4
Dip the ends of the cutting into rooting powder. Follow the directions on the container carefully as these may vary slightly.
Press the cutting firmly into a pot of seed mix. The hormones in the rooting powder will encourage a strong root system to develop. -
5
Vary your colors. You can create an interesting pot of geraniums by planting cuttings of several colors around the edge of a large pot.
A pot of geraniums makes a lovely gift.
