Enter an Online Design Competition and Win Money

Competition brings out the best in all of us, so if you're a graphic designer, and you're looking for a motivational way to earn some extra cash designing logos or other kinds of graphics, follow the steps below to enter yourself in an online design competition!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit www.99designs.com. This is a website dedicated to connecting companies with graphic designers in a very creative way - a design competition! Companies pay to announce what exactly they want, and various graphic designers try and match their needs. The winner takes the cash!

  2. Step 2

To enter a contest, you must first register for an account to set up your profile and all of the other details needed to submit and get paid if you win a contest.

  3. Step 3

To easy find a contest that you're interested in, click on "find a contest" on the homepage!

  4. Step 4

You'll be taken to a forum-like list of the various contests, who they are for, a brief description, and how much money you'll win if your design is chosen!

  5. Step 5

After you design your custom logo or graphic, it gets posted for everyone, included the client, to see and vote on. The client has the last word and makes the selection, so a good tip is to ask questions and design exactly to their needs.

  6. Step 6

If you're selected, you could win up to $1000 dollars per design competition. You can enter as many as you like. The possibilities are endless. Good luck!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you follow the client's guidelines, but also be creative. You'll get to see other designer's submissions, and so you can see what the client likes and dislikes about those and you can take it to the next level.
  • Be creative, and stand out!
  • Most of the competitions require a vector drawing, because they are then able to take the design and enlarge or shrink it without compromising the quality of the design. If you're unsure about what a vector drawing is, feel free to read about it by clicking on the "vector drawing" resource link below.
