Thanksgiving is a day when most of us plan to eat a big dinner. If we are cooking that dinner, the oven and stove can be very busy with the turkey and all that goes with it, so here is an idea of a seasonal breakfast that is easy, too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quick Bread Mixes
  • Fruit Juices
  • Cream Cheese or
  • Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese
  • Coffee and Tea
  1. Step 1

At least one day ahead, prepare any quick breads that you like. Cranberry or Pumpkin are appropriate to the season. Corn bread or muffins are also perfect for this fall holiday. When the breads are cool, slice and arrange on a platter, cover with plastic wrap.

  2. Step 2

On Thanksgiving morning, start the coffee pot or put the kettle on for tea, if your family likes it. Set out the quick bread or corn muffins. Serve with cream cheese (the whipped kind is easier to spread) or "Better Than Cream Cheese". Offer cranberry or apple juice to those that want a cold drink.

  3. Step 3

Make your table festive by serving on Thanksgiving themed paper plates, colorful plastic cutlery and put a turkey or pumpkin centerpiece in the middle of the table. The paper goods are easy to clean up and you will have less dishes to wash on this already busy day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Corn muffins are best baked the morning of serving, if your oven is not already full with the turkey.
  • If you want to be fancy, you could blend some honey and cinnamon into a stick of softened butter to spread on the breads.

on 11/10/2008 Yum, I can't wait until Thanksgiving! Great advice, it's often hard to think about the breakfast when you're cooking the big meal, but breakfast is very important as well. This helps a lot.
