A Family yearbook makes a great gift to family members or just a memory book to keep for yourself. You can choose to only highlight events or make a novel and include as many photos as possible in one book. This has become a wonderful hobby for me.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose which photo book software you want to use and publish your book through. There are many to choose from and I have tried several and all gave me great results. Some of them are My Publisher, Blurb, SnapFish, and Kodak.

  2. Step 2

Work on your book through out the year. With digital cameras it is easy to get thousands of photos and if you save your project until the end of the year, you could get very overwhelmed having to deal with so many photos at one time. Adding photos monthly or weekly will make it less overwhelming.

  3. Step 3

Decide how you want your book to be set up. You could sort it by date, event or person. You can add text which can tell a personal story or you could add poems or quotations.

  4. Step 4

At the end of the year and once you have added your last photo, view you book and make any changes that you would like to make. Upload the pictures to the bookmaker of your choice, pay for it and in a few days to a week you will receive your book via snail mail. It will be sure to become a cherished family heirloom.

Tips & Warnings
  • Making smaller individual books through out the year will allow you to only add highlight photos in your yearbook.
  • Plan on printing your book around holidays. This is when the bookmakers offer coupons for sometimes 50% off.
